Default Hosting for Genral Blog

I need to host a general blog on Internet and looking for a hosting provider who can host my blog website. Do you provide some blog applications along with your hosting plans. I am really very confused while choosing between Windows or Linux O.S. Can you help me in selecting the right package ?

If it is just a blog, I would recommend you to consider Linux as a server side OS. There are Blog CMS like Joomla, Wordpress etc. The Blogging application can be installed through Softaculous under cPanel control panel.

Thinking that I might use ASP to design pages, do you think that I should opt for Windows Hosting? Can I switch from Linux to Windows later, if needed? Also, is it possible to host these Blogging CMS on Windows based hosting?

My suggestion will be to use a linux plan and install Wordpress. It is easy to manage and install Wordpress.

Wordpress is provided along with Softaculous which is offered on Linux Shared hosting plans. So you can install Wordpress within a few clicks through your control panel. So we recommend a Linux based hosting plan to host a Wordpress website.

I am planning to order Linux hosting. Later may move to Windows. Is it easy to transfer or migrate the data?

In such case when you want to migrate from Linux to Windows Hosting plan, we will migrate all your data from one server to another, but the configuration settings of databases and others have to be done from your end.

If you are familiar with the Windows operating system, having a Windows based server will make the learning process much easier. You won’t have to worry about learning a new language just to maintain your website. For beginners, this is a definite plus.
