IRC Hosting

Does webhosting.uk.com allow IRC hosting on a dedicated server? A friend of mine currently hosted with another company. Now this company has decided that they no longer want this friend of mine to be a customer because they run a small IRC Server. Would you allow them?

Usually all webhost who are purely into hosting business and don't allow any sort of illegal activities from their network will not allow such IRC hosting no matter whether it's prive or public IRC.

We do not allow Illegal activities on our servers and IRC is one of the activity that is included in our Illegal term. Hence we do not allow IRC on our servers.

IRC Servers are prone to attacks. And that is the reason hosting companies do now allow it to run from their servers.

Many website hosting companies do not allow IRC Hosting because IRC servers are abused risk of hacking etc . Such abuse ranges from DDOS attacks to mass flooding from botnets and proxies.
