Dell and HP

I notice that many website hosting company use HP and Dell products for their servers, especially for dedicated servers. This website hosting use Dell servers, right? So what are the advantages of both brands (especially Dell) over the other popular brands?

I have seen both of these brands do horrid when it comes to personal products and awesome when it comes to business ones. I just honestly do not get it, why would they only concentrate on part of the market?

Yes, we offer/provide/use branded servers from Dell as Dell has been established in this industry since a long time and the products offered by Dell have been appreciated for the kind of performance they offer.

Well, not every customer is satisfied with the kind of products or services offered by the company but the results are based on majority of reviews and majority of users who have used products from Dell and HP are satisfied with the kind of performance offered by the products.

It cannot be said that brands like Dell and HP do not concentrate on personal products, however, the fact that corporate sales can offer better revenue and have a long term growth opportunity cannot be ignored by these companies.

If my knowledge is correct, Dell only assembles computers or servers and the parts are from other brands. I don't know if this is the same with HP.

From my own experience, computers will always have failures whatever brand they may have. We use HP computers in the office that I worked and some of them have lots of problems while others didn't have any troubles since they were bought.

Jaecob has a point. There will always be a computer that malfunctions even after quality control has been done. I think the overall quality of the product boils down to the customer service. We can say that Dell or HP is a bad company if they don't take care about the problems of their computers.

Yes, you are right.

Dell assembles computers, however, the companies which receive orders from Dell make products specially for Dell i.e. you won't get those type of products even if you ask the same company for it.

Dell and HP have developed their reputation in the market and one of the primary reasons they were able to do it was the support they offered with the products and services.

No matter which company you choose for purchasing your product, if good quality support is not offered, you won't be satisfied with the product even if it's the best one.

That I didn't know. So it is like the hardware found inside Dell is unique only to Dell computers. I thought we can assemble computers exactly from the parts of Dell.

So having Dell or HP as a server will reduce the headache of the admins because any hardware problems will be done by Dell or HP. Is it cheaper to have branded servers than assembling it? With PC, branded computers are more expensive compare to buying the parts separately and then assembling it.

Branded computers are far better then locally assembled PCs, we can't rely much on assembled hardware as they may use low grade components to build the system hence branded servers are always recommended for better performance and reliability.

When it comes to find even a personal computer, I would go for the branded one also. They are way more reliable than the locally assembled PC, though the later give you less headache when it comes to upgrading the computer.
