Default Multiple domains in one package

I'm considering moving a few sites here and would like a little bit more info about hosting several domains in one account (your cpanel hosting) before cancelling with my american host (they are good, but I can't always get support during daytime due to the time difference and that's my only problem with them).

If the main domain is mainone.com and there is another domain called www dot secondone.co.uk under that account as an add-on domain, what do visitors see in the browser address bar when they view a page at secondone.co.uk - is it www dot secondone.co.uk/somepage.htm or is it www dot mainone.com/secondone/somepage.htm, or just www dot secondone.co.uk whatever the page under secondone.co.uk is.

I'm asking because a friend had an account elsewhere that said multiple domains were allowed but visitors only ever saw secondone.co.uk with no page at the end, while on my isp, where I have a few pages for fun, it's the equivalent of mainone.com/secondone/somepage.htm, even though I have a domain name pointed at it.

And how does google see this sort of thing - are pages listed under the add-on domain as if it was the only domain there, ie secondone.co.uk/somepage.htm or does google show it as www dot mainone/com/secondone/somepage.htm
I'm asking because for the pages on my isp, it is always as the latter, not using the domain name I point there.

Finally, I manage a couple of sites for friends who had bought their own domain names before speaking to me for advice - is it just a case of pointing the domain name at the nameservers here, or do they have to transfer the domain name here as well.

Basically my friends and a couple of customers I have would be a bit annoyed if their pages in google or the browser address bar were displayed the wrong way, and I would definitely move elsewhere immediately.

Hello John,

to WHUK Forums!

I have answered all your questions below:-

1. they are good, but I can't always get support during daytime due to the time difference and that's my only problem with them
Ans. We offer 24/7 support to all our customers through Live Chat, Phone Support and HelpDesk. So you won't find the support unavailable at any point of time.

2. what do visitors see in the browser address bar ?
Ans. AddOn domain is a separate domain itself. Hence, it will show just www dot secondone.co.uk

3. And how does google see this sort of thing - are pages listed under the add-on domain as if it was the only domain there, ie secondone.co.uk/somepage.htm or does google show it as www dot mainone/com/secondone/somepage.htm
Ans. It will considered as a separate domain, the only domain there.

4. is it just a case of pointing the domain name at the nameservers here, or do they have to transfer the domain name here as well.
Ans. Either of both is possible. You can just update the nameserver and host the domain with us or get the domain name transferred to our registry. We are currently offering domain registration or domain transfer for one domain FREE!

5. Basically my friends and a couple of customers I have would be a bit annoyed if their pages in google or the browser address bar were displayed the wrong way
Ans. It won't happen, if the domain is pointed correctly. Our Technical team will take care of it.

Hope that helps

Regards,
Sanersone
