Semi Dedicated

Hi there folks.

I am considering a semi dedicated server, but i am only used to dealing with the normal shared hosting up till now.

The story goes like this, i have approx 6 sites at the moment, this is growing daily

Each site has a normal amount of traffic, but a couple of them are busier in the summer, still nothing to get my nickers in a twist about, averaging a couple of hundred visits a day.

My main concern isnt about how cheap i can get the hosting for, but rather speed. I want my sites super fast so i am concidering the semi dedicated server.

My concern is that i go off and pay for this server then cant get anything to work because i am not clever enough!

I have all my domain names registered with the same company and have changed the dns name servers in the past to point to where the sites are hosted at the moment, but thats easy.

How difficult is it to set up each different site on a semi dedicated server? Getting the domain names to point in the right place etc?

Will the performance of the sites be enhanced? (most of the sites are static html pages with optimised images)

Can i enable GZIP compression on the sites to lower the bandwidth?

There are probably a million more questions that i have, but i think thats enough to start with

It is not at all difficult to setup each different site on a Semi-dedicated Server as you will have administrator access to your Semi-dedicated server. You will be able to point the domains at the right places easily through the control panel and hence we would recommend you to consider a control panel with the Semi-dedicated server.

When it comes to control panel, cPanel control panel is recommended for Linux Semi-dedicated server and Plesk control panel is recommended for Windows Semi-dedicated server.

Yes, as all the resources of the Semi-dedicated server will belong to your websites, it is more reliable in comparison to a shared cpanel hosting plan and will enhance the performance of your websites.

Is it possible to view a site which is hosted on one of your semi dedicated servers?

A link via pm would good.

I just want to test page load times etc.

We offer good deal on annual billing cycle. If you choose annual billing term, you save two months' fees i.e. you pay for 10 months and get to use the server for 12 months. I have already had a good read of the pricing etc, so will be going for a yearly payment option.

I just hope that someone will be here to help when i get stuck setting up my sites LOL

Well i have signed up, in fact my business partner has under his company.

Just waiting for everything to be setup.

I am wondering! When i log into the client section of the site, it says "yourdomain.com" should we have entered an active domain name when we signed up?

Yes, it is possible to enter a domain name while signing up for the Semi-dedicated server, however, there won't be a problem even if you haven't entered the domain
