Certainly. If the client does not need any of the Windows based applications on the hosting plan, Linux hosting plan with cPanel control panel is preferred as cPanel control panel makes it easier for the client to manage the hosting plan as the interface is very simple and the features are excellent.

If you need cPanel control panel, you can only choose Linux hosting plans as cPanel is supported on Linux only

Usually its the other way round. It basically depends on the requirements of the websites one wished to host. Also, its not that cPanel is the only control panel that can be used for Linux servers.Plesk too can be used for managing Linux web hosting accounts.

Indeed yes,if a customer is interested in cPanel, cPanel hosting or Linux hosting packages are the only ones that can be recommended, since currently cPanel is supported only on Linux Servers.

I guess some of the Windows users are looking for the same feature

However, I think it is too early to say anything about cPanel Enkompass as it is in the beta version for now and it hasn't been launched. Hence, we should wait for a while before we look for such a feature in cPanel Enkompass

That's right Caroline !
You will see mixed reviews about cPanel windows Enkompass which have similar interface of WHM/cpanel with some new eye catchy icons....
Most important feature of windows Enkompass is the ability to setup cluster of Windows based cPanel servers hence you have more flexibility and freedom.

Well, it seems that we have been diverted from thread topic which is "Drupal on a shared cpanel hosting"
Anyone using Drupal for their websites ?

Well I'd like to know something now. Drupal is telling me it recommends an upgrade (from 6.14 to 6.15) - I downloaded and unpacked the tar file and the instructions refer to running scripts which I suspect means shell scripts on the server system.

Is it possible to make upgrades like this without shell access?
Is it easy, I should really be asking...

Will a new version be provided soon for installation by fantastico and would that upgrade an existing installation?

(I don't have much experience of CMS so I may have missed something obvious)

I am currently considering changing my webhost, and WHUK seems a good choice, from what I have read on the site and forum.
I would like to set up a drupal site and it seems like it is easy enough from the info given. I am currently with 1and1 but their support have been pretty pathetic and although they used to be good, they are not so great now and their webmail often just does not work.
I am close to ordering a hosting package, a linux one with cpanel, probably soon.

I currently have multiple domain names and sites. How many sites could I have hosted with you on cpanel using Drupal? i.e. every site set up individually on Drupal.
