Transfer of domain and hosting

This is hopefully going to be a case of third time lucky in terms of domain and hosting transfer in the last three weeks!

I’m going to give you guys a try and would like to know the sequence of events for transferring over to you. I plan to buy a ‘Premium’ Linux Cpanel hosting package with a static IP. I’m assuming this will work as follows…

1.Get the IPS TAG changed to yours (what is it btw?)
2.Sign up for the package (domain ‘imported’ at this stage?)
3.Get all the relevant emails from you regarding DNS and Mail server changes.
4. Static IP is then assigned.

If I have this wrong then please point me in the right direction

With regards to your questions, I'll put it this way:

The IPS TAG is: ENOM. Although the TAG should only be changed if the domain is .uk domain. For a .com domain, you'll need to obtain the EPP key from your current registrar.

Once your order is processed, you will receive a welcome email that includes details for your web hosting account, DNS settings, Mail Servers etc.

Static IP can be ordered while sign up process.

The domain transfer will be initiated at the same time. The transfer process generally takes a couple of days to complete.

Many thanks for the info. I'm curious, your own domain is hosted by webfusion.com. Would I be correct in assuming (as inferred by the IPS TAG and WHOIS) that you are actually a reseller operating through webfusion?

Hello Paul,

The webhosting.uk.com domain was originally registered through webfusion in 2003. It has just not been transferred into our own account due to it's long renewal date.

I can see how this can be confusing though, and I will arrange for it to be transferred.

Bo answer your question though, No, we are not a reseller of webfusion and haven't been since I gained ownership of the Web Hosting UK brand, and even a few years before then.

wow webfusion takes me back a bit also. A GREAT hosting provider with GREAT support, based in LEEDS i seem to remember.
Turned to crap when PIPEX took it over and lost clients by the 100s including me.
