Server requirement to run video scripting

Hey,

Can someone please tell me if I need a dedicated server to run a script such as clipbucket? Can't I use a VPS web hosting plan?

Clipbucket is very simular to YouTube.

Clipbucket is a OpenSource & Free Video Sharing Script so it will consume more server resources. You will have to strictly consider a dedicated server to run Clipbucket script.

Also another question. I know running a video script such as clipbucket consumes alot of bandwidth and this is of course required. I don't think it's the performance of any of the dedicated servers that really matters, it's the bandwidth. Not sure how much is really required. What will you say is the averge for a video scripting site? <Max bandwidth per month>

It won't be easy to define an average usage/size for a video scripting site. We usually do not recommend VPS for such sites b'coz these sites get popular very soon and their server resource usage is very high which may affect the performance of the complete VPS node. If you want you can try our higher VPS and later you may upgrade to a dedicated server.
