Thats a good question. I'm not sure of the answer but I'm sure the helpful Web Hosting UK staff will.

Could I ask why you want to go that way round rather than having apache on the Linux VPS as standard?

It is possible to install apache on your windows VPS, i have it installed on mine.

You will need to use an executable through remote desktop, google it.

My experience dictates really. I've set up and developed lots of development sites on local networked development machines on windows/apache/mysql/php. I have no experience of linux, or even remote VPS, so am looking to start out with as much familiarity as possible.

Linux is much better with Apache and I would recommend Linux VPS for such requirement. Our VPS's are fully managed so you can ask our support Team to install Apache / PHP and necessary php modules for you.

If your requirements are different then I have no issues with windows VPS as well

I'm a little unsure which way to go.

I want to go for a VPS hosting package, as I need to install Wordpress MU. First though, I want to move 2 sites to the VPS. Domain1.com is html, with some php linking to a MySQL database, domain2.com is a regular Wordpress install.

Then I want to install and develop a Wordpress MU installation. When that is completed, I want to point domain1.com to the new wordpress MU site.

I have no linux experience.

Could you give me some advice on the best package, and how much this will cost. I'm looking to get started on this this week.

Thanks.

As a customer I will back that up. You dont ned linux experience. I very rarley go into command line stuff and when I get stuck I get support to do it or pop onto the forums.

Linux with 64bit centos5 and cpanel all the way.

It's always recommended to go with control panel if you are not much familiar with command line environment, cPanel is best and is widely used control panel. In case if you get stuck for some technical issue our support team is available to assist you round the clock.
