Sorry James. Im getting confused with this thread
In response to your question Oliver cPanel has a specified license fee. You are paying £5 per month to rent that license from WHUK for your server. Thats why it's additional, from what i've been told.
Some users want a server without a control panel for different needs, thats why the control panel is optional and is not included in the price.

No problem
If we could afford to offer VPS with cpanel control panel for lower price then we could have surely done that but we need to offer good service to our customers so there has to be certain profit margin for us.
Please feel free to come back when you manage to improve your budget for hosting.

Oscar, buys a pc without a pre-installed OS and wonders why it is difficult to open a word doc. Why are you confused? It is possible to open the doc but darn sight easier to get a pc pre-installed with software which makes it much earier! This (like everything in life) costs more. But some actually like and prefer to use a prompt to configure all, not to your or my liking, but certainly to some, why would they want to pay for a cp they wouldn't use?
That is why i suspec a cp is optional

You are right jon, we don't want our clients to pay unnecessary for things which is of no use for them. If you need control panel order it or else leave it.

What i was confused about was the pricing if you do the maths none of the prices actually worked out.
15 x 12 = 180 // CP 5 x12 = 60 these are not the figures being quoted and then Dan comes along saying 20 per month.
I hope that explains the confusion better.
As for hosting with no cp i have no idea of how i would be able to set things up.
A budget was set by me of how much i would like to spend on hosting. Its not a case of i cant afford it, more i felt i was being pushed into something i didnt want to pay and all because i needed ssh access on the hosting.
Hosting expenses eat into my profits not much but why spend more on something that isn't going to improve my business.
Jon, you come along with your stupid scenario trying to make me look tight and stupid just makes you look the idiot m8 and does nothing for WHUK's image when clients read the forum. I'd like to see you open a word doc on a pc without an OS on it "It is possible to open the doc" lol
I did think that this hosting companies cp hosting packages were very good value for money and i would have signed up if it gave me ssh.

Hello Oscar, You are most welcome to choose one of our hosting plans, if you need customizations then that wont be possible unless you wish to consider a Dedicated Server. Please find some other hosting company instead of abusing our senior forum members for no reason.

That was a small mistake Oscar. However you can pay £15.00 per month for VPS starter which includes no control panel or you can pay £20.00 per month for VPS starter which includes cPanel WHM.
As the months increase the prices decrease a little, this is to even out the prices slightly. Most webhosting companies do this.

Hi James,
I understand that you are trying to help.
No one explained to me how i would be able to configue vps hosting without a cp so that meant i'd needed to pay for one which made it over my budget so i thanked everyone for their help and said bye.
Then i get email telling me there were new replies to this post and when i read them i reacted to it and post my reply.
Now...
The admin guy has told me to go elsewhere for my hosting so i have.
Sorry....
Merry Christmas all
