Default Semi dedicated server hosting

Hi,

Seen the semi dedicated package on main site for £24 a month. Is cpanel and whm inclusive of this? Would it also be easy to transfer existing account on VPS to Semi Dedicated, as I do not want to loose set up of exising site? Thanks a lot.

Strange! I was just looking at that same package and wondering the same. Also what the differences were between that and the VPS?

Semi-Dedicated Hosting is similar to shared hosting but in this case we setup on 5 - 6 accounts per Server. You wont get root access with Semi Dedicated Hosting.

VPS is better option if you need root access. In case of a Semi-Dedicated you can use full resources of server if other 5 customers are not using but on a VPS you cannot use more than what is allocated to your VPS ( Limited RAM ).

Semi-Dedicated is best option for those who wish to stay away from managing their VPS. Semi-Dedicated Servers are fully managed by us and we take care of security settings as well as software updates on those.

To make it simple, Semi-Dedicated is next level of reseller hosting and nothing else

I think semi dedicated server is almost similar to the dedicated server, it could be best platform between high end shared hosting and dedicated server as you get a high resource usage and not limited in as in some ways in VPS or shared hosting, It could scales all your business need before you intend to shift to dedicated server.

Hi

I had a VPS and it was great only had it for one day and I thought of it this way... I pay £20 for a VPS that is restricted in terms of resources, for £5 extra I get Semi Dedicated with less overall users on the account but maybe more domains hosted on it (just prayed im not sitting on a server with hosting resellers).. but for £5 extra i get more resource limits and no need to self manage the server .... I got the support guys to transfer my files over and resetup my databases .. the only thing i did do in all of this was pay the extra £5 via PayPal and update my nameservers to point to the new dedicated IP ....

I thought about the semi for a while but decided to stick with the vps, suits my needs much better than the semi would. Found the virtuozzo on the vps manages the resources great at present and have no problems although don't want to tempt fate

Discussion may go On and On and one can never say which one would be the best option as both plans are equally good. VPS is good for those who can give some time to keep it in good shape while Semi-Dedicated plan is good for those who do not wish to get bothered for anything else besides working of their Websites and Emails.
