Hi - I just set up a new hosting account with another company and had to close it again because there were too many disabled functions on the system so I thought, this time, I'll ask first.
What I expected to see under disabled functions is none but this is what I found after an afternoon of trying to install a well-known extension in Joomla (which should have taken a few seconds): disabled functions: show_source,system,passthru,exec,shell_exec,popen, proc_close, proc_get_status,proc_nice,proc_open,proc_terminate ,highlight_file, escapeshellcmd,define_syslog_variables,posix_uname ,posix_getpwuid, apache_child_terminate,posix_kill,posix_mkfifo,pos ix_setpgid,posix_setsid, posix_setuid,escapeshellarg,posix_uname,ftp_exec,f tp_connect,ftp_login, ftp_get,ftp_put,ftp_nb_fput,ftp_raw,ftp_rawlist,in i_alter,ini_restore, inject_code,syslog,openlog,define_syslog_variables ,apache_setenv, mysql_pconnect. |

None of this disabled functions will prevent you from installing Joomla. You will need to disable mod_security from your .htaccess file in public_html directory and then proceed with the installation.
Once you find everything properly set then remove the mod_security code from .htaccess. here's the code you need to put in your .htaccess file to disable mod_security :- PHP Code:
