Hello Jock,

We will take care of moving your forum and the database as it is but it seems that your database is quite big and you will need to consider our semi dedicated hosting plan or Linux vps hosting plan. Transfer of your forum would be done for free of cost

Your main problem is that forumer (and many other free forum hosts) do not allow you to have the database. All the forums share a common database and it's a nightmare trying to separate out your forum from all the others so you'll be really lucky if they give it to you. You might even have to pay for it but I'm pretty sure forumer don't give out db backups anyway.

Thats good to hear that you will get a backup of your database. You are lucky as there's no other simple procedure to recover all posts and members information without access to the database

I hope you don't mind me going slightly off topic, but this is very important to me. I was wanting to ask you how you got Forumer to let you buy your database? I've been wanting to buy mine, but every time I contact Forumer I don't get any reply. Thanks for any help!

Must admit I'm curious too as the forumer FAQ says they do not give out backups and a post I just found from a moderator dated only a month ago says 'Forumer.com does not offer back ups to your board under any circumstance. '.
