Question Linux VPS Hosting

Hello!

I want to sing up with "Starter" or "Business" VPS hosting plan.
Could you please give me answers for 3 questions:
1. What CPU resources provide these plans (for example 5% of Celeron 2Ghz, or 50% of Dual Xeon 3Ghz)?
2. Will resources of VPS change in time? I mean mostly memory and CPU.
3. Could you show output of command "cat /proc/user_beancounters" for both VPSs?

Thanks,
Max Karavaev

Hello,

We apologize for the delay in responding for your queries.

Q1. What CPU resources provide these plans (for example 5% of Celeron 2Ghz, or 50% of Dual Xeon 3Ghz)?
Ans: For the vps hosting we use Intel Dual Core Xeon 4 x 3.0GHz Processors with HT - 4 x 2MB Cache, 12 GB FB-DIMM Registered 667 and upto 1000 Mbps Uplink. The processor is shared between all users so there is no guaranteed amount of processor power alloted to anyone. You can utilize the full processing power provided you do not overload the server. Only guaranteed amount of memory is distributed as per the plans.
**Generally you can use 10% of the CPU resources.

Q2. Will resources of VPS change in time? I mean mostly memory and CPU.
Ans: There would be no change in the resources.

Q3. Could you show output of command "cat /proc/user_beancounters" for both VPSs?
Ans:

VPS Starter output:

Hello Max,

I have answered your other 3 questions as following :-

1. Is only Fedora Core 5 available for installation, or FC4 is possible too?
Ans :- We can setup Fedora Core 4 template as well. You will need to specify that in the message box at the time of order or you can communicate with our VPS support team.

2. When I have place order (and pay) if I want to start work with VPS on the Thursday night?
Ans :- VPS accounts are setup within 1 - 2 hours of payment confirmation so you can start anytime after that.

3. Why your VPS are so cheap?
Ans :- Our vps plans are cheap as we own all our hardware and our overall expenses per node are less in comparison with what other vps providers need to pay.

Thumbs up Re: Resourses of VPS

Thanks for answers,
I'll make order tomorrow.

Latest question: is there any difference in computation resourses (CPU) between "Starter" and "Business" plans?

Nope. Only RAM, Space and Bandwidth differs.

Angry My VPS is down. WHY?

Hello!
About 2 weeks ago I ordered VPS here.
It was working well, but now it is down (for about several hours).
WHY????

Also I noticed that MySQL5 dropped (seems like turned off) several times unexpectedly. I didn't found in logs any errors related to it....

I'm waiting for any response....

Thanks,
Max Karavaev

Hello,

The reason why your VPS was mounted is quite difficult as logs just shows the status of the VPS. But normally if the VPS load goes very high that time VPS goes in mounted status. The only solution for this is to restart your VPS.

Regarding Mysql, please try to kill previous running mysql processes you can see running mysql processes using "ps -aux | grep mysql" command. Just kill their process ids and then restart mysql service. This is because few processes got stucks so we will have to kill them manually. This will solve your mysql problem.

We have restarted your VPS and now everything will be fine.
