Default GD

I use GD for image manipulation. I don't seem to have it installed.

I have googled and it seems "From 4.3.x, PHP includes its own version of gd, bundled in each PHP release."

I have uncommented "extension=php_gd2.dll" but still no joy.

Using php -m GD isn't listed as a module.

Can anyone point me in the right direction, or link to a basic procedure on installing a module?

Kind regards
Jon

Which version of PHP is installed on the server? And do yoy have any other gd related modules that are still commented (can't remember if there are any...gd.so perhaps)?.

Thanks for your reply.

php PHP Version 4.4.4 so should be installed. (I think)

the 'extension=php_gd2.dll' is the only setting I can find in php.ini

Thx
Jon

Hello Jon,

We will need to recompile apache on your VPS. You can also do this from WHM >> Software >> Apache Update >> Load Previous config

Tick infront of GD over there and then click on start build. GD will show in php -m after apache gets recompiled. Make sure that you dont close your WHM for next 10 - 15 mins as Apache recompile will take some time.

We are here if anything goes wrong.

GREAT! GD enabled.

Thanks
Jon

ps. Only problem I have now is the popup "Hostname A ............" everytime I open WHM. Support sorted it but returned after a reboot.
It doesn't seem to affect anything, I sent a form to myself using phpmailer and it arrived, so will not bother contacting support again unless I encounter any problems not foreseen as yet.

Thanks again.

That popup will annoy you everyday so its better to open a ticket for it and get it sorted. If you allow me to login in your WHM then I can sort this problem in less than 10 seconds.

You certainly have my permission yes!

You must tell me how you resolved it though.....

I do click on it and it always comes up with the settings and ip address. I am guessing the ip is wrong.....am I right?

I would like to know the IP address of your VPS.

Also let me know if the password is the same as it was in the welcome email we had sent or has the password changed ?

I thought you had fixed it! I have not had the popup all day.
I think i could enforce the popup though by restarting Apache.

Yes same details........I know I should change them, I will when you have finished.

Hello Jon,

We dont have any VPS with the IP 87.117.236.86

This IP has not been alloted to any VPS till now and its not responding to ping as well. Let me know the IP from which you access your WHM.

I've sorted this problem for you.

You wont get that popup window again. You are most welcome to change the root password now.
