Hope His Forum Works Out Great, And That Nobody Gets Hurt..

I'm Talking Of My Own Forum Experience As An Administrator

I've Been Into Situations Like These, And It Wasn't A Good Sign..

No he is trying to get things in control again.

But there are a few who like to get things out of hand.

He dont like to kick some members but i think he should.

There are good members who are leaving because of that.

I think that is a shame.

Yeap, Well Why Don't He Just Ban The "Bad Members" ?

It Would Bring Back The Good Members,

I Hate When The "Bad Members" Ruin For All The Interested People

I Guess They're Everywhere..

That's Bad!

That is what i told him too.

But the problem is that the group who is doing it, is almost 50% of his forum.
And when he kick one out all others will go too.

it is difficult for him to decide.

i told him if he wait too long they will decide for him.

Yeap, Well I'd Prefer He Doing That Now

Before The "Bad Guys" Rule The Whole Forums..

I'd Even Suggest IP Banning Them All !

So They Learn A Lesson, At Least IP Ban Them For

One Month..! That Could Teach 'em A Lesson!

That's an incredibly open ended question.

I'll tell you what not to do.
Xbox, playstation, and anything extremely general.
There are millions of forums about video games consoles. Most have no one on them because there are a few major key sites that have already bagged 99% of all the posters who want to talk about that kind of thing.

Don't have a general forum. I see loads just with sections on nothing in particular. Music, games, windows etc. Again, those things are already taken and besides, people tend to join a forum to talk about something very specific like cycling or painting or whatever. General forums don't work.

You should know a little about the specific subject of the forum but I've found that it doesn't matter too much if you're not an expert.

Get some friends in to help get the posts going. If necessary make a couple of aliases and post replies to yourself to make it look like something is happening on the forum. They can look very deserted if the vast majority of the posts come from one person.

Above all, make it look nice, have a few sensible forums (start with about 6-8. More than that looks very messy, general and empty) and as the posts grow then you can split sections in two, and make it a nice friendly atmosphere. Don't 'employ' moderators and admins until you need them. A forum with a few members and 10 people in charge looks like a police state.
