which of the two is more effective, well that depends on what type of site is yours, what products and services your offer, your niche market and your target audience.

Traditional advertisement may bring some potential if you implement it locally like by giving ad in newspaper, magazine, yellow pages, letter drops, and ad on car etc.

Yep, I know but I've asked a general question and just want to know your thoughts.

There are few advantages of internet advertising over traditional advertising. Internet advertising is cheaper, huge and targeted. It has a lower entry-level fees and enables good conversion tracking but still I would suggest that it should not replace the whole marketing strategy though it should be included as one of the aspects of your marketing strategy.

Internet Advertising has one very big advantage over Traditional Advertising and that is interactivity. In Internet Advertising you can have interactive ads that behave differently based on visitor's behavior.

I believe it actually depends on your target market. If its about internet, webdesign, hosting, technology, gadgets and other related industries then I believe its best to advertise online.

Although, there are a lot of advantages when it comes to advertising online. You could select how to reach these people or your market. Example: If your products are about clothes, shopping.. then you can target a forum or website that has this kind of audience. .
