Importance of Press Release

I will be submitting a press release and wondering which day of the week would be the best day to send it off.

I would suggest to publish your press release on your own site first before you look to publish it elswhere. However any working day can be effective, dont publish on the day when there is any breaking news already overloading to the media, otherwise it will be lossed.

I think you should not submit your releases on monday because many people submit loads of stuff on monday so your release may get overshadowed by the other releases. Also avoid the weekend. In between you can submit on anyday.

I think the best days for submitting a press release are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. For many, Monday being the first day of the week is a catch up and getting into the routine type of day, making it not the ideal day to distribute your press release.

I agree, Monday is a competitive day and friday is more relax kind of day as weekend is very close. So, it's better to submit on wednesday cos its lil cheaper and you get good coverage as well.

I have checked this two Press release site randomly and found that there are still number of press release on each day including saturday and sunday, however there are more number of press release on tuesday,wednesday and thrusday as pointed by Peter, I think he has done lot of research btw.

I think its more important that your news should be "News" and the place where are you going to release should have good PR and reader base. I hope readers might be concentrating more on press release on saturday and sunday as they are in relaxed mood and since there are less press release coverage on those days your news would be not overlapped with tons of other news, however my view is totally subjective.
