The change on competitive ads is interesting. What do you think would happen if Google decided that adsense could only be used on pages that carried no other third party advertising?

I think Google should be allowed to do whatever they want.

Well be careful regarding this as you might ask for troubles for all the webmasters. Anything that is done by Google should be in moderation and in the public interest. There are several good things that Google can do for all of us.

From a business point of view Google don't have to act in the public interest but in the interests of their shareholders. We'd all like to think that Google should stick to their 'Do No Evil' motto but this may just be wishful thinking.

I hope they don't do this though. In time, they probably might since almost everybody uses google adsense. However, I really believe it's just too selfish.. I think its domination. Makes google seem greedy. Hehe. That's just my opinion anyway.

Actually they have reversed their earlier policy now. You can have contextual ads on the same page as Adwords according to the latest t&cs.

I really find google adsense very strict, sometimes they should also listen to what has happened along the way why there is such a violation that has happened. But they don't. They just close your account and ban you, in a snap.

panicattack I agree with you also not all click fraud is click fraud, the current exclusive on google reveals that google fraud rate is less than 2%, I guess there might be violation of other Google TOS, not only click fraud could be the main reason of getting ban.
