Default RAID ARRAY is DEGRADED on server "rotherham.webhosting.uk.com"

Dear Customers,

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Our monitoring system has detected that RAID ARRAY is degraded on server rotherham.webhosting.uk.com. It is affecting the disk read/write performance and site performance due to which we have re-scheduled the faulty HDD replacement and raid array rebuild process tonight.

There won't be any downtime as this server has HOT SWAPPABLE drive. We will replace a faulty HDD and start rebuild/data sync process in background mode. During the rebuild process, all the websites hosted on this server might load slow for sometime as the disk performance is degraded.

We will keep you updated about the status of the rebuild process in this thread. We would require and appreciate your kind patience and understanding in this regard.

Default RAID ARRAY is DEGRADED on server "rotherham.webhosting.uk.com"

Dear Customers

Over the past few hours we have noticed a massive attack being targeted on server rotherham.webhosting.uk.com's default SMTP port 25, affecting the mailing services of the accounts particularly hosted on this server only. So We have disabled/null routed the 25 SMTP port temporarily and opened an alernative port for SMTP, which is 26.

We would request you to change the SMTP port in your email client (eg: Outlook, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc) from 25 to 26.The changes will not affect the webmail services & you would be able to access/send your emails through the webmail interface without any problem or without making any changes.

We will keep you posted about the Progress. In case You would require any assistance in changing the SMTP port in your email client, please do not hesitate to call us on Our Toll Free Support Number 0808 262 0855.

The HDD was replaced properly but the server suddenly crashed due to a memory error on DIMM 1. On the reboot the RAID controller no longer detected the RAID device as inactive We activated it but we waited for about 10 minutes to activate the HDD but the server did not respond so we rebooted it, next time the RAID was gone and two HDDs had appeared of which the first is your HDD and second is the new one.

This could have been done hot swapped without the server reboot. we had another engineer on site just for making sure that we are taking the right actions. It is very strange, we am not sure what is wrong with the RAID Card or the server. We can reassure you we have done the same procedure we have been doing with these types of servers and RAID cards.

Now the server has booted from system HDD, withour RAID Controller and is currently pinging . We don't want to take further risk for data lose as well as downtime so we have decided to migrate the the entire server to another new brand server. In migration process your site will be live from old server, Once migration completes we will route IP addresses to new server.

There won't be any downtime during migration process , site might load slowly from old server.

Thanks for your understand and patience.

Regards
Alex P

I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you so much for keeping us informed via the forum. It is so much nicer to know what is going on than to be left in the dark! Keep up the good work!

Hello Miskec,

OS installation is just completed on new node/server and Now we are in the process of cPanel installation. We don't have exact eta when the migration will complete. But all sites shall be transferred to new server within next 7-8 hours.

Once the data migration completed we are going to route IPs of existing server to new server so client hosting their sites on this server don't need to change DNS setting for any domain.

Regards,

Thank you very much for detailed e-mail where you described the situation. That tells a lot about how serious you are.

Webhosting.uk.com is managed by professionals - that's for sure!

PS: BTW, My site Online Casino - Online Casino Games and Online Casinos is loading even faster now on this new server hardware.

Dear Customers,

Status of migration:

95% of accounts have been migrated successfully from old server to the new one. Remaining 5% accounts will be migrated completely within next 2-3 hours.

We have routed IPs from old server to new server and now all sites are resolving from new server. As sites and all services are resolving from new server you will notice a difference in performance of the web sites. All sites/services are responding fast than before.

If in case you are facing any issues with the website/services kindly contact us on live chat/ticket support.

Regards,
