How to install phpBB3

Hey, I'm trying to install phpBB 3 on my website.

I get to the stage where you're installing the database etc. I've created the database in plesk.

However, when I press continue, I get the error "Could not connect to the database, see error message below.
Access denied for user '[deletedforsecurity]'@'localhost' (using password: YES)"

I *think* it *may* be to do with the fact I've got nothing in the box that reads

"Database server hostname or DSN:"

But I don't know where I get that information. Can anyone help me?

EDIT: NEVER MIND! Lol, I just forgot to create a user for the database!

It does happen quite naturally that you tend to miss the fisrt/basic step while doing a few new things. However if you don't do mistakes you won't learn and remember from those. Smeep, we are glad that you found the answer that you you needed. Keep it up.

cPanel with Fantastico rocks. I've never seen an easier way to install software.

Except it really messes up phpBB3.
It assumes you're using US English but doesn't add the imageset for the buttons so you can't see things like new post and reply. It also does something odd with the tables causing default value errors in the database. It's also not supported by the phpBB site as it's not using their files.

Much better to install it properly.

Worth watching through at least once before attempting it, but I managed to upload my php forum first attempt... with many a click on the pause button of the above youtube vid!

I have read this all of the stuff and I just want to say that this is really very useful for me as well. As I also have the same problem. I totally unknown from this but after reading this all of the stuff I got the little idea about that.
