Default The Australians have lost it!!!

The Australians who seem to be unbeatable in past years, are not so unbeatable anymore. The Australians have been the number 1 cricket team for the past 10 years or so. I believe that it is now time for some other team to step up to the plate and take the number 1 rankings away from the Australians. I don't think I am being unfair when I say, it is not good when one team stays on top for too long without any real challenges, the Australians have been there for quite some time. I believe that it is now time for someone to challenge the number 1 spot.

For the first time in quite some time, the Australians don't look quite so superior as they use to. In the CB series the last match between Australia and Sri Lanka, Australia lost that match, after chasing just 221. In the past Australia would have just walked all over that small total, but instead, they lost by 13 runs, all credit to the Sri Lankans. After that the Australians just couldn't bounce back, they went on to lose the best of three finals to 2-0 to India. The Indians have been playing very good cricket, so they deserve to win. Ever since the Indians won the 20/20 world cup, it is as if we are seeing a different side of the Indians.

Is this the start of a new cricket era, will the number 1 spot slip away from the Australians?? What do you guys think??

It's hard to say. They have still being fairly strong in test cricket but they do seem to of lost an edge in ODI. The biggest problem is their bowlers. Now that Warne and Mcgrath have gone their attack looks a little weak. If they didn't have Brett Lee they would be in big trouble.

Their fielding is still excellent but that is only going to help you so far. In the past two matches their batsmen really let them down with Ponting being a big failure.

YES

I hope England Team has watched last 3 Matches of CB Series. India and Sri Lanka have shown new path to all Cricket playing teams and there's a new cricket era ahead of us

What was the bet then?

I don't read too much into ODI's, a bad day and you lose. A couple or 3 bad batting innings gilcrist, ponting, and the game is gone. The same for a great couple of bowling overs in ODI can swing the game.

Test cricket is where it matters i think, and unfortunately at present the Aussies are still the team to beat

John went with the Bookies and lost his money with loss of Australia India should have won the Test Series against them by 2 - 1, but Aussies managed to play foul game in Sydney to get at least 10 decisions in their favor. No team can win if opposition is allowed to play 30 Batsmen and your team is allowed to play only 10. India had first innings lead in every match which shows that Australia has lost its position.

Well, I don't really like Australia, but I honestly thought they would beat India. As Administrator has pointed out, I know nothing about cricket
