Hey everyone like to know your internet speed. I'm subscribing broadband upto 20MB With virgin download and not sure about upload, this is what I got:-

The one thing that annoys me about Virgin is that sometimes it would come down to 13mpbs
It actually downloads at this speed.. but at times pages take forever to load I don't know why!

Cable is only useful to me for downloading otherwise when it comes to loading pages, playing network/LAN games it's useless
especially during awful weather conditions and particular on sunday nights.

Thats supposed to be up to 8mb - never had more than 1 mb - But I do live in the country, right next to the sea.

Considering even 13mbps is about 7x faster than the UK average you should be thankful

I agree. You could be me! Paying for an 8meg service which actually should give me 6.3meg, which i was getting before tiscali took over pipex. I now get 1 meg if i'm lucky!

Haven't got a clue what any of it means thought

It says Speed: 54.0Mbps on my connection. I'm with NTL/Virgin cable.

Well doesn't ping mean you are closer to the exchange? Your ping is lower whereas mine is higher and mine is like over 10x faster still? And we both have Virgin Media (NTL/Cable)

I totally disagree. As far as the results it just can't be true. Maybe the downloading side.. yes but it's not even stable to surf for hours.

I receive timeouts everyday on sites.. what is that all about? I don't know why .......... really baffles me completely

Your speed is just about as bad as mine cassie, it looks like you have 1.7meg .

The 54.0Mbps is most probably your wireless / lan connection speed.
