Default Help needed with Outlook 2000 Address Book

I know this is not strictly what this forum is for but I trust you lot - lol - and could do with some help.

I use Outlook 2000 for my customer contact details. When we get an order in (online retail) we put the email address in a contact form and that shows if it is an existing customer or not. If it is we open the correct contact and if its not we continue filling in the contact form and save it to the Address Book.

However we are now up to 16383 contacts and it is giving a non-specific error and not saving the contact. If I remove a contact (and put it in a different folder) it will let me save so it feels like a limit on the number of contacts. But I read somewhere that there was NO limit on the number of contact and the PST file is fine if under 2GB (which it is) so I am a bit stumped.

The error is "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists restart Outlook." but that is so generic it covers lots of things. Restarting Outlook doesn't work either - neither does detect and repair.

I have had another error lately when I start up (WIN XP Home) and also the Outlook Today page in Outlook isn't coming up - its just blank. These all might be connected - or not.

The other error is a bit more complicated so I have uploaded a screen print here - http://knitone.co.uk/images/error-screen1.jpg.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Cassie,

First thing I would suggest is to make a full backup of your outlook using a backup software like one available at http://www.outlook-express-backup.com/

I have asked one of our senior windows system administrator to provide a solution for this problem so make a full backup before he gives any suggestion.
