If I had the chance to vote I'd go for something ancient and visually impressive. Something where you think 'how the heck did they build that'.

From that list I don't think the Statue of Liberty, Eiffel Tower or Sydney Opera house would even make my top 700. It's not much of a wonder when you know exactly how it got there.

I'd go for something like the Easter Island heads or Chichen Itza.

Pyramids of Egypt would be my all time favorite and No. 1 wonder in this world.

Its next to impossible to design such Pyramids again with same concept, same size of stones and same proportion of Height / Base.

I don't believe that Pyramids from Egypt could not make it to top 7 wonders. I guess it was due to lack of awareness among people from African continent.

China and India are highly populated countries in the world so any sort of global voting is ought to bring their wonders in top 2.

Success in the competition will not be popular with everyone.

Yeah, if Pyramids does not make it, I think there should be eighth wonders and the great pyramids must be included there.

Egypt Pyramids deserve to be in the top 7 wonders and the idea of 8th wonders is not bad at all.

I think it's a shame that all of the seven are ancient sites. When the Greeks compiled their original list they didn't just confine it to ancient sites but also to contemporary or near-contemporary wonders like the statue of Zeus or the Colossus of Rhodes.

I just wonder what is there left at "Great wall of China' that appear in the new list, I can say the list is arbitrary.

So what do you think would be included if you had to nominate the 7 Internet Wonders of the World?

I'll start it off...

General forum software.
How else could you talk to hundreds and thousands of people all over the world about a subject or interest that you have in common.

Wikipedia.
Sure, not all the info is accurate but you can find out useful info about anyone remotely famous and any thing or place all on one site. An encyclopaedia by the people, for the people.

Amazon
One of the first 'shops' to really catch on. They weren't a high street brand. They gained their following purely from the internet. Once people realised how easy it was to search for books and CDs without hauling your arse down the shops their popularity and brand name grew enormously.
