Default Who will win the cricket world cup 2007 ?

Hello Cricket lovers,

Most of the aussies are injured. Do you think this will be in the favour of England or someone else? I think aussies must be under great pressure due to this. On the other side India's team is getting stronger and stronger, especially after the returning of Ganguli. It would be interesting to watch the game.

Well its true that most members of aussie team are injured but its not an the easy job to beat them. There are lot of good teams but still aussies are the favorites. If you consider a team from the sub-continent, India is also a favorite to win the world cup. So lots of competition and lots of teams. Lets see what happens.

Your reply is quite interesting for me to think about your interest in cricket.

BTW do you like to watch or play cricket at all? Asking just out of curiosity.

Cricket is a fantastic game and nothing better than being there at the ground sipping the old port and brandy.

My money is on South Africa, but also think India and Pakistan will be there or there abouts. Lets not dismiss the hosts, W. Indies will have a good chance if Gayle is on top form.
Semis:

S.Africa
Pakistan
W.Indies
Australia

Agreed with Kev. As per CLR James who is most widely known as a writer on cricket, "Cricket is first and foremost a dramatic spectacle. It belongs with the theatre, ballet, opera and the dance".

Well don't forget that Australia was defeated twice by England and had to face a series white wash from New Zealand. I don't think that they are in the right form to grab the world cup.

Regarding the sub-continent teams it is always doubtful especially India they fail to produce BIG Wins.

Possibly the most boring and futile game ever invented. Hour after hour of 'sportsmen' stood in a field looking vaguely bewildered. Any game where you have to schedule meal breaks is just taking the piss. Roll on RWC - a proper game for proper men.

If you see the performance of the entire year, hopefully you will notice that. You cant judge any team from a particular series. Well ups and downs are the part of the game. I find the most consistent performers in aussie team only.

No doubt that they have been world champs for two years in a row due to their consistency.Losing 5 games in a row does demoralize any side in the world and that to before the world cup.
Similar thing happened with India in New Zealand before the previous world cup and they couldn't make it big.
I thinks Australians have proved themselves for almost a decade now to be the the best cricketing team.
In this world cup I would certainly like the other teams that have potentials, to win. I'm all set for a close and tough competition.
Hozz that?

Well done Ireland!
Fantastic bowling and fielding. I think it must be huge pressure being a world class team playing a minow, nothing to gain and everything to lose, especially when all the so-called minows were all written off even before the tournament started.

Hope England don't suffer the same fate.

Well played Bangladesh also
