Default Google drops answers

Google has decided
to close its answers service
after four years in operation.
From the end of this week
it will no longer respond
to questions submitted
to the Google Answers site.
I think in the series there are certain things Google is thinking of

Why they must have taken this step I can’t really understand as I think it was a very helpful source of getting answers
to some unchanging questions.

IMO Google may be planning to use all researchers involved in this project for some more productive work rather than collecting get just 25% of the amount raised from this project.

You could see Answers as being a victim of Web 2.0 - why pay for information from a trusted source when you can get the wisdom of the mob for free.

Sorry to say Kev, but I don't think so, as many of the answers if you see are still pending there. And the more important thing is questioners are still waiting for answers. Shows they are willing to pay for genuine answers. But do agree with you that if you are getting answers from mob for free (also these kind of people don't want to waste their money as well as time in research or hardwork) then why to pay.

There are a lot of people who would pay for answers - but there are far more who won't and that's why Yahoo have kicked Google's arse on this one.
