Default Zeus or Apache

Hello all members,

I need your suggestions on a better web server for Linux. Which one do you recommend, Zeus or Apache ?

Well, if you are looking for an affordable webserver then Apache would be the best option.
Many webusers claims that 'Zeus' webserver is much faster than Apache but it's bit expensive.

In my opinion, Apache is one of the most affordable and efficient webserver in the market. It can also be customized easily as it has a modular structure. The best thing about Apache server is that it consists of a list of configuration files that are very well documents with all the necessary information so that you can refer to these files and inform yourself about all the features and settings of the Apache Server.

Zeus has a cost as you might be aware. You might also find some strong features available with Zeus. However, most of the users prefer Apache, it does the job well and is also a reliable option.

I would prefer Apache because it is affordable and full of features. The main advantage of Apache is that it is an open source software. This goes on to say that the programming used in the software can be viewed and edited by anyone. Therefore it becomes possible for any programmer to create a customized solution based on the core Apache program.

Very true. That's the reason most of the users prefer it. It is also easy to install and modify the configuration files.

Then there is also Litespeed which many users prefer. When it comes to performance and scalability, LiteSpeed is highly preferred by users.

LiteSpeed is very powerful. It offers one of the fastest backup solutions; therefore the users can always be sure that their data is safe always. One can take backups whenever required.

I agree, Litespeed and apache are the most widely used ones. But then Litespeed is meant as a lightweight alternative to Apache. Apache is more flexible though.

Apache is free whereas Zeus is paid. Compared to Zeus, Apache is widely used and considered to be stable and reliable. It is easy to install and modify the configuration files in Apache. I would prefer Apache over Zeus, even tough Zeus is fast compared to Apache.

Apache is one of the most sophisticated web servers available. It comprises of a modular structure that can be customized easily and it also provides with a user friendly interface. The API of Apache is based on the open source technology that makes it possible to add your own code in order to adjust it in accordance with your requirements.
