Default Processors offered with Linux dedicated hosting plans

What processors are offered with the Linux dedicated hosting plans? How would they affect the functioning of my website?

Our Dedicated servers have wide ranging processors from the low end Dual Core Intel Atom all the way up to Dual Hexa Core Intel Xeon processors giving massive amounts of CPU power. As for how they would affect the functioning of your website this would depend on your current processor and CPU usage. I.E. You may find that you are using very little CPU but using a lot of RAM thus slowing down your service.

Allotted resources to your server plays vital role in performance of your website.
If you have heavy traffic website with huge databases and media elements like Images/Audio-Video or Flash content then certainly you will have to go with high end server with good CPU having high processing power and enough RAM.
Website hosted on server with good/latest processor will serve request very fast without any delay hence websites will load in no time.

Thanks for the information. Do you think Linux dedicated hosting is the best hosting platform for my online store?

Dedicated server will be a ideal platform for hosting your website. But if you are starting a new E-commerce shop or if you have less number of products in your e-commerce then its not recommended to opt for a Dedicated server initially You can start with a VPS server and then upgrade onto Dedicated server as your shop grows. This would be a cost effective solution.

Opting for a VPS server first will provide you with a good insight on how you can monitor your website efficiently and how it can be expanded.

My website is into selling books online. Considering the spectrum of downloading the eBooks, what I am essentially looking for is at least 300-400 GB monthly bandwidth with a Linux operating system and full root SSH access.

As per your requirements, you can opt for a Business Linux VPS Plan that will give you full root SSH access and 2 dedicated IP's. This is a very efficient platform to host your online store website. You can also opt for the Magento content management system that will provide you with efficient features for ensuring the smoothness in the online transactions.
