Acceptable Log Processing Settings for Bandwidth and Stats

On a busy shared server, what woud the recommended/acceptable settings under Main >> Server Configuration >> Statistics Software Configuration be?

I have it as follows
1. Process log files every 24 hours
2. Process bandwidth every 12 hours
3. Then under "Statistics Schedule", I have marked out the hours of 9am until 10pm in order that the stats are not processed during business hours.

I have noticed of late that the server during the day gets a little loaded and in between the processes the bandwidth was being updated and logs being processed.

Of course I understand that its totally dependant on several variables like hardware, the amount of users, traffic etc, but wanted to know if increasing the delay between processing times would make a big difference?
