Default Ad Networks Violating Privacy?

Quote:
While most companies and networks collect only non-personally identifiable information from users, the filing claims unprecedented amounts of data are being collected and associated with each unique visit to a Web site.

"Current privacy disclosure policies are totally inadequate, failing to effectively inform users how and what data are being collected and used," the filing states.
Is there any tool or way, so that the user can keep track of these kind malicious things or can block or stay away?

I'm not too sure about this thing. You never know what things happen behind the curtain and whose tracking what information and for what purpose.

You could just block all cookies and hide your IP address. The problem is that you then lose a lot of functionality. There can be lots of legitimate uses for the information a site collects about visitors. What was the original article and what did it refer to?

It was in the news almost a month back now; I think from the internet news.

But it's not surprising to know.

A new website surfer knows very little about this thing.

A regular visitor might get noticed to these things.

I think most information gathering is harmless and some of it is essential if you want to provide the sort of functionality that people have come to expect e.g. I'd imagine that most people here have checked their server logs at some point and that is all data you have collected on visitors.

I think you are talking about the great webmasters,

What about others who don't like to follow the rules?

I am wondering too, if there is any perfect solution available for this.

Not sure what you mean by following the rules. Most Web sites collect data in some form and to some extent. At its simplest this could just be the data in the server logs but other sites store a lot more because it enables them to offer enhanced functionality e.g. remembering users preferences. Some people see this as an invasion of their privacy but without it the Web would be a very different place.

Where I mentioned I shall object later..I have signed means I agreed.. before making my wife pregnant I never discussed any TOS with her. that means I agreed to give all right to my first-born child.

Bloody hell your wife came with a ToS? Mine didn't even come with a manual - and the warranty wasn't worth the paper it was written on.
