This morning's announcement regarding Front Page Extensions raises questions for VPS owners. Presumably if FPE is a security risk to shared hosting, it is also dangerous for all sites on Linux VPS. So what steps should VPS owners be taking to safeguard themselves? How can FPE be removed from an account, if this is necessary?
What is the nature of the threat from FPE? Can pages be hacked? (I've seen this before). |

Frontpage extensions can be removed from an account using cPanel by modifying the account and removing the FPE tick in the box

just removing FrontPage extensions from cpanel won't help. You need to remove frontpage RPM from your VPS or Dedicated server and then recompile apache.
You are most welcome to contact our support team to get this done. mass injection attempts were done on some of our servers using FrontPage extensions and we had no other option, but to discontinue FrontPage extensions from our servers. We tried to find some alternative, but Microsoft has eliminated any such possibility. If you want to host your websites and use Microsoft products, then you have to consider windows platform and pay Microsoft what they demand.

![]() shortcut to get millions of backlinks is to inject websites and to do so you need to find a team that keeps on working on new exploits. some kids do this just for fun and you can't question someone's intention if they do such things for fun ![]()
