I am really getting frustrated with this. I don't want to delete the catchall yet until I fathom out all the stupid names I have used in the past - I even used gas@mydomain when I email the gas company - there might be others !!

So I had set up filters at Account Level Filter so some of the words in subject line, body or to certain addresses I don't use, are filtered to discard. (which sometimes reverts back to /dev/null for some reason)

But they are all now getting filtered into my main email and not being discarded. I now have a few hundred emails in my main account all with rude words in them. I view them through mailwasher so can delete them without opening them but it is taking a long time.

What am I doing wrong the help pages are not too helpful when it goes wrong - I thought I was doing what they said do.

Red face

Now I really feel stupid

I've just worked out what was going on and it was such a simple mistake I thought I would swallow my pride and put it on here just in case anyone else is stupid enough to make the mistake.

I had one of my possitive filters which should have said if it contains "certain word" send to my main account.

Somehow it had changed to if it doesn't contain "certain word" send to my main account. So everything basically was being filtered to may main account and bypassing all the other filters.

I hang my head in shame

Why? You had a problem - you stuck at it and you worked out how to fix it - nothing to be embaressed about there.
