Default Will IE 7 slow FF growth?

If the bad guys are starting to target FF it will be interesting to see how the Open Source community responds.

Also IE7 looks good in beta with some nice fetaures. If MS deliver on the security front will we see FF fall back to being a niche option like Opera?

yh IE7 is quite good indeed... and i was using a beta vista which gave me a different better version of IE 7 compared to the current beta 3 for XP users...
soo i guess we can expect more from the other outcome of MS products

Default New MS stuff

I'm running Vista in a VM and I haven't noticed any real difference between the IE7 beta for XP and the one included. There are problems on a few Web sites, particularly where CSS hacks have been used.

If you've used any of the common hacks in any of your sites it's probably a good idea to check them in IE7 because as soon as the release goes live on Windows update then millions of people are going to be installing it.

Media Player 11 is quite nice as well. Looks lovely with its black glass GUI.

I'm using the latest beta but I'm sure there is a lot of work left to do. The problem with any Web site and IE7 will be in the CSS. Because previous IE versions failed to implement the box model properly designers have had to comeup with a number of hacks. IE7 is more standards compliant which means that some of the hacks will cause problems.

Off the top of my head Lifehacker is one of these. It's not a major problem but if you do use CSS (and everyone should be) then it's worth checking your site(s) in IE7 just in case.
