Changing ownership of domain name.

For some reason i am in need to change ownership details (Name & address) for few of my domain names. I do have access to domain control panel but i am not too sure how to change domain name ownership for required domains.
Please help me, i am stuck !

Certainly, you can change the ownership details of your domain name. If your domains are registered with us. You can login to your client area, Go to Domain Management and edit the contact details for your domain names. You can change the ownership of generic top level domain names from the client area. Whereas, if the domain name is CC TLD than you will have to follow the norms as guided by the domain registry.
For e.g

If you have a .co.uk domain name and you wish to change its ownership than you will have to contact Nominet domain registry and request them to get the domain's ownership changed. For which you will have to pay there fees. For .co.uk domain ownership change also called as registrant name change, the fees are £10.00 GBP + VAT.

For more details you can place an email at our billing department (billing@webhosting.uk.com) with the domain names so that we can let you know the exact procedure for the specific TLD.

You won't be able to change the ownership of the domains from the domain control panel. If you have the domains registered with us, you can simply contact our billing department and they will assist you with the change in the ownership of the domains, however, if those domains aren't registered with us, you need to contact your domain registrar and ask for assistance.

Thanks Kemp for your response. Well, domain is not registered with Webhosting UK and if i chance the ownership using domain control panel then i hope it will be reflected in who.is, right?

Yes, you are right, If you change the ownership details (Name & address) for your domain name from your Domain control panel it will be reflected in the whois database. It may take 12 -24 hrs to reflect the change Globally.

It's important to note though that you need to make sure you have truthful and accurate WHOIS details as it required that you provide your real and valid personal details for WHOIS information. If you don't want your WHOIS information accessible, you can purchase Domain ID Protection (WHOIS Protection) via your domain registrar, which is an additional fee per year on top of the yearly fee for your domain name itself.

Yes, as Ben says, don't fall foul of the ICANN rules - they can refuse to continue your domain if you are knowingly providing fraudulent details.
