Default PHPmotion - PHPshield Error

Hi all,

I am installing PHPmotion on one of my domains, but I have a PHPShield Error

This would seem (going by the error message), that is because of the PHP version that i'm using rather than the script itself.

Quote:
PHPshield is an application that is needed to run a few files found in PHPmotion. Normally, if you have uploaded everything correctly, it should all work. PHPmotion comes already to run (with its own set of PHPshield loders)...however listed below are some reasons why a problem has been found this time.

Causes & Solutions

1.Your server is PHP5.2.5+ and from this version onwards, PHPshield loaders need to be installed directly on the server (in the php extensions directory).
The part that i am stuck with is what i highlighted in red. I have tried to look in the phpmotion wiki, but it (for me anyway) has been unavailable all day.

Also because of this, after going through the phpmotion install process i get this error
Quote:
Warning: dl() [function.dl]: Temporary module name should contain only filename in /home/shopping/public_html/OurTube/classes/config.php on line 2
PHP script /home/shopping/public_html/OurTube/classes/config.php is protected by phpSHIELD and requires the phpSHIELD loader phpshield.5.2.lin. The phpSHIELD loader has not been installed, or is not installed correctly. Please visit the phpSHIELD php encoder site to download required loader.
Any help is appreciated.

Thank you

Hello,

I am not getting your account information from your forum registered email address. Please PM me your domain name and exact installation URL, so I'll investigate further in this.

Thanks Vasco for helping with the error I had and installing the required script.

I now have another problem though, maybe another PHPmotion user, has had this problem before, but when i try uploading a test image, the uploader say's that its uploaded ok, but I do not see any image just the little red x (eg broken image), this is the same for 'user' uploads and in the 'admin' side. any idea what i need to change now? could it be something as simple as changing the file size limits in the admin area?

Just want to ask before i start playing with things that may make the problem worse!

Thanks again.
Russell

Did you find out what the phpshield problem was?
I had that problem over a year ago and spent hours trying to sort it, eventually support fixed it for me but i never found out what the problem was!

Hi Jon,

Im not very techy, so like you it was a bit too advanced for me to 'fix' and had to ask support for help.

In my case 'Vasco S' was kind enough to help me and sorted out my problem with the script.

Thanks
Russell

I am having problems with video uploads now which direct me to the usual '500 Internal Server Error' page.

It says to check the error logs, but i don't really know where im supposed to be looking for these (error logs). Any advice please, or shall i just give up on phpmotion and use something else? - although i'll probable still have problems

Thanks
Russell

Update:

I have found my error logs now, and the basic message for this error seems to be "File does not exist"

Obviously it needs this file (whatever it is), to operate properly, but i have no idea what it could be.

Its a shame that i keep having problems with this script (phpmotion) as i like the look of it and thought it would go well with my site once completed, but if im going to keep getting errors maybe i should look for an alternative/simular script. Maybe ClipBucket, is that any good?

Thanks
Russell

Do you remember of uploading the files in Binary format when installing PHpmotion ? I have personally used PhpMotion and Clipbucket both. Although I prefer Phpmotion.

Hi Russell,
I would delete your installation of phpmotion and then ask support to install it for you. I too had a few problems with phpshield and various permissions etc.

I know support dont usually assist with 3rd party software, but if you catch one of them in a fairly quiet period i'm sure they will install it for you.

Hello,

I have corrected PERL scripts permissions on your server, so now you should able to upload videos without any error. I have uploaded few videos on your site, but video converter doesn't work, hence video doesn't showing on your site. I have tried some solutions provided by PHPmotion support team, but those didn't work. Please look in this.

Hello Rachel, Yes I uploaded ALL files in Binary format if my memory serves me right.

Hello Jon, Yes I know that support would probably do this for me if i asked very nicely, however I did not want to bother them too much as like you say it is a 3rd party script, so was hoping i could sort the problem out without resorting to that course of action.

Hello Vasco, Thank you for correcting the PERL scripts permissions (whatever they are )
The video's that you uploaded did seem to upload OK especially the 'baby' one, although the other which has a run time of 50secs (i think) only runs for 6secs, The reason they did not show on site is because they were 'pending approval' on the admin panal.

Thanks to all for helping me, hopefully I can get this working smoothly so i can promote it to my visitors once i have completed the rest of the site.

Thanks again for all your help.
