Web hosting is making your website reach the audience. There is a certain web space required to registered and host your web site. A web hosting company provides with the server space so that the web site can be hosted. Once the web site is hosted, it becomes accessible on the world wide web.

First you need to design your website and register a domain name for it. Once this is done you should look for a reliable hosting provider where you can host your website. In this way you can make your website Live on Intenet.

Once you have selected a domain name, you have to register it and sign up with a web host; this is the main meaning and purpose of web hosting. Once you register with a web host, you will be provided with the details in terms of getting your website up and running. Once you sign up for a web hosting package you will get the passwords to your accounts and the paths where your paths and directories can be uploaded.

Web hosting is like the backbone of your website that supports it for performing all the functions. It is extremely crucial to select the most appropriate web hosting plan for ensuring the speed and uptime of your website. For instance if you are running an online store, you must host your website on an eCommerce hosting plan so that you get all the necessary resources like shopping cart software and support to the online payment systems to ensure the smoothness of online transactions.

Web hosting involves renting space on a server (or an entire server) provided by a web host (a company). Different packages can be ordered to tailor to the needs to different websites and how much traffic they attract. Different features can also be selected on different packages. You are given a username and password and you use this to access your control panel and administrate your website. From there you can create your web site by using an online site builder or by using offline tools and then updating your website via FTP to the server.

Hope that helps .
