3. It is illegal for a woman to be topless in Liverpool except as a clerk in a tropical fish store (6%)

4. Eating mince pies on Christmas Day is banned (5%)

5. If someone knocks on your door in Scotland and requires the use of your toilet, you are required to let them enter (4%)

6. In the UK a pregnant woman can legally relieve herself anywhere she wants, including in a policeman's helmet (4%)

7. The head of any dead whale found on the British coast automatically becomes the property of the King, and the tail of the Queen (3.5%)

Really? Did you make these up or are they really apart of UK laws?? What is the meaning of the percentage that is at the end of each law?

In my opinion some of these laws are ridiculous, that is if they are true.

The probably are part of the UKs laws. We have a very old body of trial and common law and some of the older laws have never been officially repealed. However trial law (judge-made law) always takes precedent so murdering a bow and arrow carrying Scot in York is still going to see you doing some serious time

Some of these laws would have actually made sense when they were originally proposed.

No, I did not make these up. The reason they still exist is that there are so many stupid laws in the UK like this that it would just be to costly to even think of repealing them.

Most of the stupid laws date back to the 17th Century.

In Milan, it is a legal requirement to smile at all times, except funerals or hospital visits.

I wonder what the Queen will do with just the tail, I mean come-on the King can have the whole whale for himself as it actually makes sense as well

Well as we are sans-king at the moment presumably the queen gets all of it - she tends to give them away now though I think.

I think you're being unfair to the Jocks Jon, you do see them without a drink sometimes. Although admittedly not when they are awake.

I think few laws should be changed like rule no. 5 which looks risky to me if some one knocks on your door with wrong intention like robbery etc.
