Are you talking about the software or burner, if burner then what kind of burner are you using? Is it Sony, if not then it should be sony as claimed by sony that AWG170A is world’s fastest DVD+R burner. It has the ability to burn a dvd at 16x, you will need 16x media though. Also has the capability to burn a CD at 48x.

I've got a Sony 16x DVD+ and it is pretty nippy. I haven't come across software that encodes noticeably faster than Nero though sorry Paul.

Thanks Kev! I shall check out that, no luck with nero so far, most of the time I find it fail to detect a genuine CD/DVD.

I get that problem occasionally - I think it might be related to Nero In-CD - I got rid of that and the problem hasn't occurred for a while.

Hii Paul, I have been using the Nero burner for a long time and till now I have not faced any problems with it. I burn a lot of CDs for my system and so far it has been good with me and the quality of the written one is also great. I think if you burn the CDs at lower speeds then the sound quality increases a little as this is what I have experienced with Nero and my music system.
