Default Spear phishing scam?

What is a spear phishing scam?

We can say Spear phishing to be a most highly targeted phishing attack. As often the Spear phishers send e-mail that appears to be genuine to us even within any certain company.
The message appears to look very real and might even look as if it has come directly and might also include some requests for user names or passwords but this email can be a fake email where the intention is just to steal your login credentials.
In such case if you ever reply to such email with the username and the password or if you try to open any link or any attachment then your account can be hacked or can also be the victim for phishing. So it is always necessary that you always try to avoid accessing such links or attachments.

Here are some the tips to avoid spear phishing are as follows.
Make sure that you never pass out any of the personal or financial information while replying to any e-mail , no matter whoever has sent it.
If you ever receive any e-mail message that seems suspicious to you, just try contacting the person or organization that is listed in the From line before you try to respond or open any of such type of attached files.
Never try clicking on any links in an e-mail message that requests personal or financial information. Instead of this you can enter the Website address into your browser.
You can also try to use the browser like Internet Explorer 7 or the Windows Live Toolbar which contains Phishing Filter, which scans and helps us to identify suspicious Web sites, and also provides us with the updates and reporting on any known phishing sites at least of upto an hour report.

There are hard core professional who do such kind of attack. As there are plenty of other ways to which are much dangerous than any other attacks. If we think for such attacks a end user have to fail to secure his server bec tha phishing hacker to find multiple way to do the same. So we just have to be cautious for such kind of attack.
