Default SMTP Problem

Hi guys,

I'm having problems sending email from Outlook 2010. I have set the following conditions:

Account Type: POP3
Incoming mail server: mail.mysite.co.uk
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.mysite.co.uk

My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentification is ticked

I can receive without any issues but cannot send: send test e-mail failed
Please help !

Hi.

Please make sure that port 25 is opened in your local system/network firewall and also not blocked by your ISP. You can try to change SMTP port from 25 to 26 in outlook.

If it is still not workings with above change then PM me you domain name, so I will check the DNS and domain configuration setting on the server.

I'm not sure, but I use Outlook 2007, but I'm wondering if you ticked manually configure the settings. Look at this article here, and then try it again. The settings should be the same - hope that helps

Default SMTP Issues

Hi kieren,

I'm still unable to send email from Outlook 2010.

I opened the port and disabled my Windows 7 Firewall.

Does this problem lie with me or can you do something at network level?

Thanks

Hi.

As per the DNS information, MX record for above domain that was reported by your names servers is :
Quote:
21 mail.study-aids.co.uk 80.94.196.11
As this IP does not belong to our server and you dont have hosting service, domain registration with us, I wont able to check your Email issue. Please contact your host support and check issue further.

Thank you.

Default ???

This is strange - I have been a paying subscriber to WHUK for 4 years now and I only experienced issues since I upgraded my machine from XP to Windows 7.
