SMTP setup help needed

sorry i think i have posted this into the wrong area

I am trying to get dotnetnuke to send email with out much luck.

I have created a mail account called support@mywebsite.com and have tested it and it works

I have set my email address in dotnetnuke to be
support@mywebsite.com

and the smtp server to be

smtp.mywebsite.com

I have set the SMTP Authentication to basic and added in the user name and password for the email account but every time i try and send a test message i get a error.

"There has been an error trying to send the test email. The error is:
There is a problem with the configuration of your SMTP Server. Mail was not sent"

Can anyone see what i am doing wrong ?

Just try to setup the SMTP Server as mail.mywebsite.com and check mark the option (enable) " Server Authentication is Required ".

Hope that may work for you ..
