How to obtain an IP range?

Hi,

Just out of interest how do you go about owning or managing an ip address?

i know currently its no where near worth me getting my own IP range (i only have a few IPs which i use) but just wondering what would be needed, purly from a branding point of view (IE to have my name etc on an IPs whois info instead of eukhost (sister company of whuk which is used when obtaining thier IPs).

from what i read it is registering with Ripe (as im on europe), paying thousands of euros each year etc and then applying for IP addresses.

But is there an easier way to get custom branded IP addresses?

Hello,

The cost of one dedicated IP is £2.00/month and £20.00/year. We'd not be able to change the WHOIS information of few IPs, but for a whole IP subnet consisting of 255 IPs. If you wish to purchase a complete subnet block [255 IPs in total], we'd be able to change the information as per your requirement..

The price of an entire subnet can be discussed with our Sales Dept either through Live chat or by placing a ticket...

It's somewhat costly and not worth it unless you have that kind of money to fork out per month

I knew it would cost alot, just wondered how much.

If you were to get some custom servers and get a subnet, could you then use the IPs for a VPS brought from whuk?

Just asked.

Aparently an ip subnet is only £200/mnth i expected it to be more.

Something to aim for i guess lol

Just a big geek really and would love to see my name on IP whois lol

You can purchase one if needed doe some time. We all will love to see your details in the IP Whois .
