Default Aiming at the American Market

Hi All
I already have a good strong UK website but now I want to do the same thing for the US market.
I have bought the .com address but how do I hit America with the domain name??
Should I have the site hosted in America or the domain name with forwarding ??

Please give me advice.
Thanks

Where the site is hosted makes little of difference from what I know, but that may be untrue.

Really having a .com would benefit you alot, just hit out with the SEO. .us .net and .co.uk could be alternative solutions to .com

Hi,

You should host your website in US as that will help your website to get categorised as an American site in Google and you will get better rankings in Google.com. Hosting yoour .com domain in UK will boost your rankings in google.co.uk, but you wish to focus on American market and that is possible only if you host your website in US.

We have reserved 2 shared hosting Server in US which are in two of the well known American Datacenter's. We can setup your new account on one of these servers if you ask our billing department to do so.

You can simply submit your order online and then contact our billing department from Web Hosting UK - 24x7 Helpdesk | Toll Free Phone Support | LiveChat Support and ask them to manually create your account on one of our US based servers. We hardly have few accounts on those so you will never face any problem with your websites on our American servers.

Our rankings never improve in google.com no matter what we do. Earlier we had good rankings in google.com when our website was hosted in USA few years back, but our rankings were poor in google.co.uk. Now we have better ranking in Google.co.uk, but rankings in google.com have dropped.
