bash commands and spam

I have a site that the disk quota is full. It's because of spam in the mail folder.

I'm not using an email address at that site so i never set one up. The default was set to the main account, so it has about 16000 emails in the mail/new folder. I'd like to delete all the emails with a bash command rather than sign into webmail and do it that way.
I tried navigating to the mail/new folder but I can't get the rm command to work.

After I do this is there a way to set all the domains default address to blackhole or fail? Which should I use? Anything else I can do to keep from getting so much spam cluttering up my vps?
