Default Choosing a TLD-domain name extension

Currently, there are 66 domain name extensions, also known as top-level domains. To some extent, the additional domain extensions are helpful in that it allows more choice for the main part, the second level, of your domain name.

However, it can also add a lot of confusion as your potential visitors have to remember both parts of your website name. For that reason, it's seems wise to stay within the most commonly chosen domain name extensions. Do you agree?

Yes, that's very true and hence we always advice our customers to book all available domain extensions for your domain name and redirect all extensions to your main domain. This way you can establish your brand and can beat down the competition

I quite like the "dot biz" when it's appropriate. Nevertheless, it's new and, taking that into account, I can see the advantages in registering .com most definitely assuming it's available, perhaps .net depending on the nature of your site, and any .uk TLDs.

Yes, I can agree more with you. I think sticking with the most commonly used domain extensions (dot com, dot net and dot org) is the way to go and always worth it, whatever it costs.

A dot com is always worth it, within reason of course. Nevertheless, it can be very tempting if you find the perfect name with another somewhat popular extension that isn't available in the dot com version.

I think the dot com rules. It makes a website address more simple and attractive. One should always prefer to have a dot com extension if possible.

Yes, the dot com is the first and the most popular domain extension today, and I think it will still be dominating the internet for many years to come. I would stick with it when it comes to registering domain names.

If you're marketing a product, the dot com extension is usually preferred. However, organizations should use .org and many internet-oriented websites use .net in their domain name. If you can get the dot com version, however, many .org and .net also get the dot com for thieir domain as well.

It is what the extensions were supposed to be used. However, I notice that it doesn't apply to the newer domain names and websites. Most domain registrars and web hosting providers use .com instead of .net for their domain names.
