quality hosting

It is troublesome and takes too much research to find a good hosting. I have made an effort to research a number of hosting sites. some are very cheap but there are serious service issues. Others offer peformance like shopaserver dot com but they have less track record of customers. how i can find a good hosting is a question mark. can somebody comment?
