Wink Domain Transfer Help Needed

Hi there, first off I just want to say i'm a novice when it comes to domains, tags, ids ip addresses so be nice please

On my webhost account with WHUK I have 2 domains I want to transfer one of the domains to "Another Webhost" (Got it really cheap) now I e-mailed billing saying the other provider has said to ask WHUK to point the domain at ENOM and I got this reply:

Quote:
If you want we can update the nameservers for your domain "mydomainhere" so that the domain can resolve from your new hosting service provider, as well as will provide you with the domain names control panel. i.e enom access log in details so that you can make necessary updates for your domain name. Which would also refrain you to transfer the domain name else where.

Awaiting for your positive reply.

Regards,
Kemp Morrison
Billing Account Executive.
Now is there anyone who could explain to me exactly what this means will happen and how it all works... also the line

i'm a bit confused to what that exactly means.

Cheers Guys
Mark

Good morning

Whilst hosting a site with WHUK is not a requirement of being a member of this forum many of its posters will have WHUK accounts, nor do I believe that WHUK are the only hosting company anybody should use.

..."Another Webhost" (Got it really cheap)...
but you might want to think this through a bit further and consider what you are actually saying.

You want to spend less of your money by moving an account, that's fine its your money and a free country.

However you are unsure what you are doing and your new cheap host is apparently unwilling to support you through this move, why else would you be posting here? Yet you expect us to disadvantage WHUK, who spend money on support staff and spend our time in effect being the support department for your new cheap host!

Bye

Ian

Hi Ian, thanks for your reply, I have a couple of domains on my WHUK account and want to move one domain to another host as I got the hosting with them for around £8, this should of been £120 for 2 years but I used a 50% off voucher and then used topcashback.co.uk that give be a further £50 odd back! Ive had a number of accounts with WHUK over the years my first in 2004 and dont get me wrong I have been and continue to be happy with their service. My plan though was to move 1 of the domains to be on another account and as I got "My cheap one" for practically nothing I thought I can effectivily run that for free but continue to use my WHUK account for the other domains.

i.e. getting 2 sites for the price of one. If this is bad then im very sorry.

My new host hasn't un-supported me at all they have exactly the same live chat as WHUK its just that I received an e-mail from WHUK I didn't quite understand the technicals about and "thought" that maybe the forum could give me a hand. The other host asked me to ask WHUK to set the tags to ENOM I asked then got the email back from WHUK that I mention below.

I don't understand how asking for a little help regarding an email from WHUK is unfair on WHUK and it's members? If I got the email from the new host and asked on here sure I would totally agree with you, but I didnt, I got the email from WHUK?

Thanks
Mark
