Never, ever, ever Go with 123-Reg.co.uk
I just got some help from admin about what I should do with my site (Thanks admin)

I say don't go with them because:

I bought a .org domain a high-level domain with 123-Reg, then I realised they had a free deal which is: If you bought a 2 year .com, .org or .net you get a free .co.uk
I thought wow that's what I did, so I should be expecting a .co.uk in my account.
*Checks the deals' Terms and Conditions*

- You have to add the domain to your transaction and it will discount of your bill.

... OMFG !!!

I then realised I can't get a free domain and went sad since I had planned on using it for something important.
I then saw something about cancelling your domain, I read this and I thought okay I will cancel my domain and re-order ( Open from 9:00AM - 5:30PM)
Time Here was 6:37PM

... OMFG Again!

So then I waited till the next day, then I got on the phone to ring and it was 10pence per minute (normally for 0800 numbers) They kept me on the phone for over 1 hour and still I never managed to get through to a customer service representatives . Now I was angry. I then just thought forget it, what's done is done, can't change the past.

It was my problem but keeping my on the phone for 1 hour is riducolous and my money on the phone bill
There custom service is rubbish. Don't ever expect good service from them if you have a problem.

Next problem.

I now try hosting my site with the domain I did purchase, I made a free web hosting account somewhere else and then I added the domain to the account. They say it normally takes 24-48 hours to fully synch. So I gave it 3 days for so I couldn't mess up, I click on my domain, and I realised that it links back to 123-Reg.co.uk, and then I find out that I can only host it with 123-Reg. I was so aggravated at the time I felt like punching a whole through my flatscreen monitor.

So now you know my life story, I recommend you never use 123-Reg.co.uk.

Webhosting UK instead.

You should be able to transfer the domain to another host. It's probably showing their site because, until you put something on it, it's just parked.

you need to point the domain to the nameserver where your site will be hosted. You can do this from the control panel on 123-reg. If you have and it isn't working, you must have done it wrong.

I take your points about customer service, it is shocking but i find there control panel very good so i use them all the time for domain name purchasing, plus i like to keep all my domains together under one supplier
