Default ICANN says no for .xxx for adult site.

ICANN has voted down the proposal for .xxx domain for pornographic content adult site. Bad news for adult webmasters.

If the .xxx would have been approved, it would have streamlined such websites and would have acted as a warning system for anyone who wanted to avoid unwanted bumping into porn sites.

I think that they wore lots of people who sent a letter to ICANN concerning this issue. This is a business move and a greedy one at that to raise up the prices on every adult and non adult domain owner, we must see this for what it is....

Adult sites are also against this move. For one they have fears that the shift in domain name may affect their business in terms of search engine ranking and other important business considerations.

A 301 permanent redirect can solve their problem or they can utilize that domain to expand their business by creating seperate adult site or blog. I can do that for my site in my signature.

Their best friend supposedly is the Apache's 301 redirect. But their worst enemies are cybersquatters lurking around to lock their domain names. As adult site administrator, how do you like the scenario that your .com domain name is no longer available in .XXX . To acquire the latter you have to pay for a high fee.
